Krista McCarville's Northern Ontario rink got some revenge on Chelsea Carey's team Canada at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts today.
Carey knocked off McCarville a year ago in the Scotties final, but 2017 was to follow a new script, as McCarville's rink battered Carey and the reigning champions to the tune of 8-1, ensuring that there will be a new champ this year.
McCarville, along with Sudbury native Kendra Lilly who throws third stones for the rink, Sarah Potts at lead and Ashley Sippala at second will take on Rachel Homan's Ontario rink in the semi finals this evening for a chance at a trip to the final.
Homan was defeated in the 1v2 page playoff on Friday evening and the winner of tonight's 7:30 p.m. semi-final will meet Michelle Englot's Manitoba rink for the gold medal.
Chelsea Carey's rink meanwhile. awaits the loser of tonight's semi-final in the bronze medal game.
