A trio of Sudbury athletes competed at the Ontario Summer Games in Windsor on Aug. 8, returning with a medal in each event in which they participated.

A trio of Sudbury athletes competed at the Ontario Summer Games in Windsor on Aug. 8, returning with a medal in each event in which they participated. From left is Bradley Chaput, silver medallist in the 14-15 boys elite kata division, Marissa Meandro, bronze medallist in the 14-15 girls elite kata division, and John Howard, bronze medallist in the 14-15 boys elite kata division, as well as a silver medallist in his kumite division. They train at Benoit's Martial Arts. Bradley also captured first place in traditional kata and second in traditional weapons at the Battle Zone tournament on Aug. 16 in Ottawa. Marissa took second in traditional weapons, third in traditional kata and third in open weapons. Juliana Meandro was a finalist in traditional kata and traditional weapons. The tournament was followed by a WKC Team Canada training event. Bradley and Marissa will attend worlds in Dublin, Ireland, in October.
