Photos: Kids hit the trails for day two of Conquer the Crater

Kivi Park hosts the inaugural event in support of the Northern Cancer Foundation's Miles for Cancer fund

XTERRA Conquer the Crater hosted day-two, of their inaugural weekend event at Kivi Park Saturday afternoon, in support of the Northern Cancer Foundation’s Miles for Cancer fund.

The course hosted trail run competitors in the morning and kids of steel duathlon athletes in the afternoon, who each put their unique footprint on this blossoming tradition.

At 2:30 p.m., the event grounds transitioned to become the Crater Music Festival, featuring live music and a fully-stocked beer garden until 10 p.m.

Tomorrow, the remaining adult competitors will participate in two waves of swim heats, a full-distance duathlon and sprint triathlon.

Check back with Sudbury.com tomorrow for the full story and a photo gallery of Sunday’s festivities.
