Since the fall, students from French-language Catholic and public elementary schools in Greater Sudbury competed in volleyball in the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon Volleyball League.
Thirteen teams were registered in the girls’ league, and 11 in the boys’ league. All teams in each of the leagues were able to face each other before proceeding to the championship round on December 13.
“We congratulate the young athletes who competed in a spirit of camaraderie and fair play,” said a press release from the Nouvelon school board. “We wish to thank the coaches for their commitment and desire to support our students in the development of their sports skills.”
