The Police Cup Hockey Tournament will take place this weekend Jan. 22-24, featuring all the teams from the Sudbury Playground Hockey League, along with several teams from out of town. Members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service have contributed their time to help put the tournament together.

“Our Service is excited about the opportunity of contributing and having a positive impact on over 600 Sudbury youth,” Chief of Police Frank Elsner said in a press release.

With generous contributions from within the Police Service and community partners, this year’s event will be special and memorable for all participants, the release stated.

The tournament will kick-off with an official puck drop at 3 p.m. Jan. 22 at Carmichael Arena.
