Quiet weekend with just one game on the schedule for Wolves

Wolves host Steelheads Friday before five-day layoff

The Sudbury Wolves have a lighter game schedule this week with a much busier community weekend planned. 

The team will look to build off Sunday afternoon’s win over the Mid-Western Division leading Kitchener Rangers, this Friday Night, as the Wolves host Central Division rivals, the Mississauga Steelheads at 7:05 p.m. 

With only one game this week the Wolves’ will need these two points at home as they get players back from injury and illness.

Visiting the Sudbury Community Arena this Friday, the Steelheads’ roster features two first round NHL prospects up front in Owen Tippett (FLA) and Michael McLeod (NJ) who recently returned to their lineup from NHL Rosters. 

Albert Michnac leads the team offensively with 30 points in 25 games and on the blue line, Vegas Golden Knights defensive prospect Nicolas Hague sits third in team scoring with 25 points in 25 games.

Friday’s game is sponsored by the long standing tradition of the CTV-Lions Christmas Telethon who will be on-hand with lots of prizes and giveaways for lucky fans. 

Proceeds from the WOLVES:United 50:50 draws this season, including this Friday will also go towards the Telethon. 

Prior to the game, world renowned and accomplished DJ, DJ Trapment, will be on-hand entertaining fans from 6 - 6:30pm in the bowl so fans are encouraged to come down early for the pre-game show.

Wolves host Teddy Bear Toss on Dec. 15:

The Sudbury Wolves will host the annual Teddy Bear Toss game on Friday Dec. 15 when the Wolves host the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7:05pm. Fans are encouraged to throw new or gently used stuffed toys on the ice when the Wolves score their first goal of the game. The stuffed toys collected will then be donated to the Salvation Army through the TD Toy Bank.

Wolves unveil first glimpse of ugly holiday sweaters:

The Sudbury Wolves unveiled the first peek of their Ugly Holiday sweaters on social media Monday. These jerseys will be worn on Sunday Dec. 31 when the Wolves host the Guelph Storm at 2 p.m. and auctioned off online and in-game with proceeds going to the Infant Food Bank and Pregnancy Care Centre.
