The Rayside Balfour Jr. A Canadians are back in action, if only for practices leading up to their next regular season series starting March 14.

Under current restrictions, the Canadians are only permitted to play against teams within the team’s own health district. The team will play intra-squad games and scrimmages leading up to their next regular season series against the French River Rapids or Espanola Express on March 14.

Based on the current municipal guidelines for arena events, spectators are not permitted to attend the games, however, games will be telecast live by HockeyTv and Eastlink Community TV Channel 610.

Players and coaches continue to follow the NOJHL Return-to-Play program and acknowledge the guidelines in reference to the Orange zone established for this region.

“At this time, our players are pleased to have the opportunity to return to the rink and work hard in practice, develop their skills until such time that we are able to play against the next opponent that we will face from the NOJHL,” said the Canadians in a press release.

“We look forward to the day that our fans can return to the Chelmsford Arena and cheer on their local Canadians players to a Junior A championship for the hockey fans of Greater Sudbury.”
