Sobush, Boucher take honours as Cubs’ players of the month

Sobush notches 14 points in February while Boucher accumulates 11 points

The Greater Sudbury Cubs Jr. A Hockey Club named first-year forward Pierson Sobush as the Toppers Pizza Top Performer of the Month for February.

The 17-year-old forward led the Cubs in scoring with seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 10 games.

Sobush’s 14 points in the month of February vaulted the rookie forward into third place in team scoring with 29 points in 34 games. Sobush was named the game’s first star a total of four times to lead the Cubs.

The first recipient of the L.May Miners Lunch Box Hardest Working Player Award is Josh Boucher.

The 20-year-old NOJHL veteran and former captain of the Espanola Express was acquired by the Cubs in December and has been a solid addition to the team. 

In the month of February, Boucher finished second in scoring with seven goals and four assists for 11 points. The Lively native now has 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points in 34 games this season.

Boucher and Sobush have already been presented with their awards.
