The Sudbury Laurels are hosting the Ontario Provincial Level I Gymnastics Championships this weekend at the Tom Davies Centre in Walden. More than 1,000 athletes, coaches, officials and supporters will attend the event. All sports fans are welcome free of charge.
The Bantam Development Basketball Program is open to all boys born in 1989 or 1990 (under 13 as of Jan. 1, 2002).
The clinic and tryout camp will be held this Saturday from 1 to 4 pm at Lasalle Secondary School.
A total of 12 boys will be selected to attend a training camp(s) in Sudbury, of which 10 boys will be chose to represent Northern Ontario at a four-day elite camp at Sir Wilfred Laurier University in July and also attend the Ontario Summer Games in Kitchener from July 18 to 21.

Sun run results
More than 150 runners took part in the annual Sudbury Fitness Challenge Sun Run organized by the Sudbury Family YMCA last Sunday.
The Dairy Queen Youth Challenge two-kilometre race was won by a brother and sister from Timmins, Jeremie (8) and Katrine (11) Bourget in times of 8:04 and 9:00 respectively.
Todd Withers and Melissa Bota, both of Sudbury had the fastest male and female times in the five-kilometre race, 17:22 and 21:05 respectively, while Derek Reed and Karin Trimble took home the 10-kilometre titles in 32:07 and 47:05 respectively.
The next event in the fitness challenge is the mountain bike tour, hosted by the Sudbury Cycling Club June 2. For more information, phone 522-9580.
