The Sudbury Wolves were just not ready for the Peterborough Petes on Friday night and it showed in a 4-0 loss that seemed to frustrate Coach Cory Stillman.

“My best line was all rookies and they played a hell of a game," Stillman said, mentioning in particular (Anthony) Tabak, (Nolan) Hutcheson and (Dawson) Baker.

The Sudbury Wolves didn’t register a shot on the net until close to the 10-minute mark in the first period and by then it was 1-0 for the Petes.

Peterborough added another one from Adam Timleck who had all day in front of the Wolves net to make the game 2-0.

The 10-minute ice-cleaning came at an opportune time for Stillman. The Petes had possession of the puck on the Wolves' zone and given the number of mistakes and turnovers the Pack was making last night, intermission might have saved Sudbury another goal.

Stillman was frustrated his more experienced players were making so many errors, while the Petes' rookies were shining. “We turn the puck over, we flip pucks in the middle and again, that’s overagers, that’s 19-year olds -- you count on them,” said Stillman. "That team that we just played against, I think tonight had three rookies in their line-up.”

In the second period the Petes got two goals from Pavel Gogolev, and the second was a highlight reel finish with Semyon Der-Arguchintsev carrying the puck down the right side to feed a beautiful saucer pass to Gogolev who tapped the puck past the left side of Culina to secure their win.

The pack are now on a four game losing streak and dropped to 7-16-4-0, 10th in the Eastern Conference.

The Wolves have a chance to make good tomorrow afternoon when they take on Kitchner.

Jake McGrath, Reagan O’Grady and Blake Murray who missed the game due to flu are expected to be back on ice Sunday when the puck drops at 2 p.m..
