The Sudbury Five have unveiled their special theme event schedule for the 2023 season.

This year’s schedule includes Family Day game on Feb. 20 at a special start time of 2:30 p.m., Indigenous Celebration game on Feb. 25, Movie Afternoon on March 19, Fanfest on April 23 and the fan favourite Baby Race on April 16 (which also happens to be the team’s first sensory friendly game).

“The Five will also be hosting team autograph sessions following every Sunday game so bring your Five gear and cheer on the Kings of the Underground,” the team said in a news release. Kids 10 and under will receive admission for all home games this year for only $10.

“We are very excited to unveil our full theme schedule for the 2023 season,” said Miranda Boivin, SWSE marketing manager, in a news release. “We worked hard to have a variety of different themes that will have something for  everyone. Some themes will pay tribute and appreciation to some of the core foundations of our  ommunity, such as the mining industry while other themes will be more targeted to giving back to community.

“With these themes, we hope to make our fans feel like they are apart of the team with  autograph sessions, meet and greets, and more opportunities for fan and player interactions. We are  looking forward to another unbelievable season of Sudbury Five basketball.”

For the full list of theme games, visit TheFive.ca. Full details on each of these games will be released closer to the dates.

The Foive return to home court at Sudbury Arena on Feb. 12 to face the Newfoundland Rogues for a special 3 p.m. start time. It’s Superbowl Sunday so fans are invited to join in some pre-game tailgating with games to win great prizes. The preshow will also be shown on the video board prior to the game.

Tickets for all regular season home games are on-sale now at greatersudbury.ca/tickets and at the Sudbury Arena box office.
