Sudbury Laurels Gymnastics Club, the competetive arm of the GymZone Family Fitness Centre, has signed Dave Arnold, former Canadian Olympic team coach and current coaching advisor to Gymnastics Ontario, as technical advisor for all programs.

Arnold began his term on Sept. 11.

“We pride ourselves on having one of the most highly-trained and experienced coaching teams north of Toronto right from our grassroots recreational programming, all the way up to our national programs,” said Lisa Kivinen, director of GymZone/Sudbury Laurels. “Signing Dave is a natural progression to help us continue to mentor our coaches and athletes at all levels.”

“He will bring his multitude of experience to our club, whether it be from coaching at the Olympics and World Championships, or training in program development and gyms across the world, he will share it all.”

Arnold will also be advising and mentoring the GymZone's recreational director. According to Kivinen, this will insure that the recreational gymnasts are exposed to the same programs and coaching as the competitive gymnasts.
