The Sudbury Wolves have announced that two more players — defenceman Braydon Bruce and forward Lucas Di Giantommaso — have committed to wear the Pack’s colours for the upcoming OHL season.
The Sudbury Wolves pre-season roster has been increased to 31 players, including three goaltenders, 11 defenceman and 17 forwards.
Standing 6-5 and weighing 180 pounds, Braydon Bruce was selected in the 11th round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection by the Wolves. The team describes him as a “towering defenseman with excellent gap control and reach.” Last season, he played for the Markham Major U16 AAA team, skating in 21 games and registering one goal and seven assists.
“We are very happy that Braydon Bruce has chosen to commit to the team and we believe he will be a big part of our team over the next few years,” said Rob Papineau, Sudbury Wolves VP and general manager.
Lucas Di Giantommaso was selected by the Wolves in the eighth round of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection. The team describes him as an “exceptional puck-carrier with the inclination to create space for himself almost out of nowhere. He has excellent sharp edges and slick puck skills.”
During the 2021-22 season, Di Giantommaso played for the Blyth Academy Bruins U16 and U18 teams. In the 18 games he played with the U18 team, Di Giantommaso recorded 30 points (21G-9A).
“Lucas Di Giantommaso was outstanding at both the orientation and main camp,” Papineau said. The Wolves open their regular season at home on Sept. 30 against the Barrie Colts. Single-game tickets will go on-sale for pre-season and regular-season games later this week.
