Sophomore Ryan Valentini has been named the Skater’s Edge Player of the Month for the month of November. 

The Mississauga, ON native has had a great month on the ice. Ryan has catapulted from sixth in scoring on the team all the way to seconnd in recent weeks. 

He has notched 9 goals and added 13 assists for 22 points in 27 games played this season and is now just one point shy of leading the team in points. Ryan was also awarded first star of the game on Nov. 20 in a win against Kingston and second star last Sunday in a victory over Niagara. 

Sudbury Wolves Community Player of the Month 

Sudbury Wolves overage veteran Chandler Yakimowicz has been named the Community Player of the Month for his contribution to the City of Greater Sudbury during the month of November. 

Yakimowicz displays exceptional leadership qualities for his teammates on the ice and for the fans and the community off the ice. 

Chandler has participated in the Adopt-A-School program numerous times in the month of November where Wolves’ players visit local schools across Greater Sudbury.

The power forward is currently in his fourth season in the OHL and in his first with the Sudbury Wolves after being acquired from the London Knights earlier this season. 

Molson Canadian 3-Star Award 

Russian forward Dmitry Sokolov has been awarded the Molson Canadian 3-star Award  for the month of November. 

Dmitry was named the first star of the game twice in the month of November. He was awarded the first star of the game on Nov. 5 against the Mississauga Steelheads where he recorded two goals in a 4-3 shootout victory. 

He was also named the first star of the game once again on Nov. 30 against the Hamilton Bulldogs where he notched another two goals in a 3-2 win. 

Dmitry currently has 16 goals and 5 assists for 21 points in 23 games played for the Wolves this season. 

The Minnesota Wild prospect leads the team in goals scored and sits third in team scoring.

Sudbury Wolves Hardest Working Forward 

The Sudbury Wolves Hardest Working Forward  for the month of November is veteran forward Liam Dunda.

Liam plays with a ton of grit, passion and energy for his teammates. Liam was also awarded with the second star of the game on Nov. 18 against the Hamilton Bulldogs. He has 4 goals and 5 assists for 9 points to date this season. 

The Grimsby, ON native has a strong work ethic and uses his size and strength effectively on the ice. 

The 6-5 forward was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the summer of 2015 and was acquired from the Owen Sound Attack during the off-season. 

Sudbury Wolves Hardest Working Defenceman 

Team Captain Kyle Capobianco has been selected as the Sudbury Wolves Hardest Working Defenceman  for the month of November. 

The Mississauga, ON native is currently in his fourth season with the Sudbury Wolves and is a tremendous leader for this young team on and off the ice. 

Kyle has 19 points in 24 games played this season, ranking him fourth in team scoring. He also leads all defenceman in points on the team. 

Kyle has consistently contributed offensively in his tenure with the Wolves organization and signed a three-year entry level contract with the Arizona Coyotes earlier this season.

Reg Wilkinson’s Men’s Wear Scholastic Player of the Month 

Wolves first year forward Shane Bulitka has been selected to receive the Reg Wilkinson’s Men’s Wear Scholastic Player of the Month award for November. 

Shane is enrolled in Business Management, International Business and Learning Strategies at Lasalle Secondary School where he is achieving a 79 per cent average. 

The Ilderton, ON native was the Wolves second round pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection. The speedy forward has recorded six points this season as a rookie with Sudbury.
