Wolves camp set to open

The largest training camp in Sudbury Wolves history is set to open Wednesday. A total of 60 hopefuls, including 16 returning players, will participate in the training camp as the Wolves open their 32nd season in the Ontario Hockey League.

A total of 60 hopefuls, including 16 returning players, will participate in the training camp as the Wolves open their 32nd season in the Ontario Hockey League.

New head coach and general manager Mike Foligno will be in charge of selecting this year?s team.

Full scrimmages will take place Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Those who make the first set of cuts will take part in the annual Blue and White game, set for next Saturday at 2 pm at the Sudbury Arena.

Admission is free for this game as are all scrimmages.

The Wolves rookies will play in an exhibition game on Sunday, Aug. 31 against the rookies from the St. Michael?s Majors.

The Wolves first home exhibition game is set for Friday, Sept. 5 at the Sudbury Arena as they host the Soo Greyhounds. General admission tickets are now available at the arena box office. Tickets are $9 for all ages.

Season ticket buyers will receive their free exhibition tickets in the mail over the next couple of days.
