Red-hot overage winger Rafal Martynowski knocks an insurance marker into an empty net Friday night as the Wolves knocked off the Barrie Colts 4-2. The Wolves hit the road Saturday and Sunday and ended up losing contests in Kitchener and Oshawa.
The Sudbury Wolves played three games over the weekend, winning one on home ice Friday, while continuing their poor play on the road losing back-to-back contests Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday night, the Wolves beat the Barrie Colts 4-2 at the Sudbury Arena.

Captain Zack Stortini led the charge with two goals.

Ben Pouliot and red-hot Rafal Martynowski also scored for the Wolves.

Patrick Ehelechner was sensational in net, making 37 saves.

Hunter Tremblay and Michal Birner replied for the Colts.

Colts' rookie goalie Francois Thuot showed his frustration at the end of the game. After being yanked, Thuot, who was on the Barrie bench when the final buzzer sounded, turned around and smashed a partition of plexiglass, sending chunks of broken glass onto the fans.

About 15 rowdy Sudbury fans sent stern verbal taunts and banged on the remaining partitions of glass to let Thuot and the rest of the Colts know they didn't appreciate his actions
.
The situation was diffused when the Colts quickly left the area and headed into their locker room.

The Wolves packed their bags and hit the road for a Saturday afternoon tilt against the surging Kitchener Rangers in Kitchener.

Despite a tough effort, the Wolves lost 6-3.

Nick Foligno scored his first-ever career OHL goal. Kyle Musselman and Ryan McDonough also scored for the Wolves.

Kevin Beech, getting a rare start, was excellent in the game, making numerous key saves. In the end, Beech stopped 27 of 33 shots fired his way.

The Rangers were led by Mike Richards, who scored three goals. Adam Keefe, Paul McFarland and Justin Azevedo also scored for the Rangers, who have won 10 straight games.

On Sunday, the Wolves faced the Oshawa Generals in Oshawa.
Penalty trouble cost the Wolves again, as they dropped a 5-2 decision to the Generals in a rough-and-tumble game.

Martynowski and Bobby Chaumont scored for the Wolves.
Ehelechner made 33 saves in the loss.

Chris Hulit scored two goals for the Generals, while Chad Thompson, Brandon McBride and Adam Berti also scored for the Generals.

The weekend results have left Sudbury in third spot in the Central Division with a 10-10-3-1 record, good for 24 points.

The Wolves are back in action this Friday, at home, against the Brampton Battalion. Game time is 7:30 pm.

The Wolves also play Sunday night, against the best team in the CHL, the London Knights, who have yet to lose a single game this season.

Game time is 6:30 pm at the Sudbury Arena.
