Dominik Jendek picked up two goals and an assist in the Sudbury Wolves 6-3 win over the Niagara IceDogs on April 5.

The Sudbury Wovles doubled up on the Niagara IceDogs for a 6-3 victory at home on Tuesday night.

The visiting Dogs are sitting last in the Eastern Conference and 19th overall, just a spot back of Sudbury.

Tuesday’s game was scoreless well until the 12-minute mark of the first when Alex Assadourian (Nolan Collins, David Goyette) to give the Pack a 1-0 lead. A minute later, Ethan Larmand put Sudbury on the scoreboard again, assisted by Dominik Jendek and Marc Boudrea, to give the Wolves a 2-0 lead.

Four minutes later, Jendek would score one of his own unassisted to put Sudbury up by a score of 3-0.

The teams would trade shots for the next 20 minutes without anyone getting on the scoreboard. Sixteen minutes into the second, Niagara got its first goal of the game when Dakota Betts (Aidan Castle, Daniel Michaud) found the back of the net to make it a 3-1 game going into the third.

Five minutes into the final frame, Jendek scored his second of the game (Ryan Smith, Larmand) and his 13th of the season to give the Pack a 4-1 lead. Less than a minute later, Niagara would answer back with a goal by Liam Van Loon (Betts, Brenden Sirizzotti) to make it a 4-2 game.

Two minutes later, Assadourian (Boudreau, Collins) would net his second of the game to give Sudbury a three-goal lead again, 5-2.

Less than two minutes after that, Sudbury would score again. Goyette and Assadourian teamed up to feed a pass to Nick DeGrazia who scored his 22nd of the year and gave Sudbury a 6-2 lead.

Niagara kept pushing though and with six seconds left and the IceDogs on the power play, Declan Waddick would earn a late goal to finish the game 6-3 for Sudbury.

The loss keeps Niagara in the basement of the Eastern Conference with a record of 22-38-3-1, sitting in last place behind Sudbury.

With a record of 23-34-3-4, the Pack is ninth in the Eastern Conference and 18th overall. The team is back in action at home on Friday, April 8, against the Soo Greyhounds. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
