Wolves face off with division-leading Steelheads this weekend

The Sudbury Wolves kick-off a double header weekend against the Saginaw Spirit who make their one and only appearance of the season at the Sudbury Arena Friday at 7:05 p.m. 

On Saturday, the Wolves will host the Mississauga Steelheads at a special family friendly time of 4:05 p.m. The Wolves are coming off a solid weekend where they picked up 4 of 6 points.

Saginaw’s roster features Sudbury natives Damien Giroux and Cameron Lamour, as well as former wolf Reagan O’Grady. The Spirit currently sit second in the West Division with 24 points in 22 games, ranking 10th overall. 

They are led up front by leading goal scorer Nicholas Porco, Albert Michnac, and Cole Coskey. Their roster features six NHL prospects including 2018 second round New York Islanders draft pick Bode Wilde and 2018 fourth round Arizona Coyotes draft pick, goaltender Ivan Prostetov.

Friday’s game is sponsored by Maslack and All Nations Church who will be on hand to kick off their mountain of mittens campaign. Fans can purchase mittens from All Nations Church at tables set up throughout the arena for the chance to win one of three $50 Maslack gift cards in the Mitten Toss during the second intermission.

Saturday, the Central division-leading Mississauga Steelheads and former wolf Alan Lyszczarczyk will battle the Wolves. Mississauga’s roster features three NHL prospects including 2017 first round Florida Panthers draft pick Owen Tippett, Edmonton Oilers 2018 second round pick Ryan McLeod, and Los Angeles Kings 2018 sixth round pick, goaltender Jacob Ingham.

Saturday’s game is sponsored by The Home Depot who will be on hand with drawstring knapsack bags for the first 500 fans to enter the building. Fans can participate in the Mystery Puck game at The Home Depot kiosk in the lower lobby.
