The Sudbury Wolves organization has announced that their first round selection in the 2017 OHL Priority Draft, Blake Murray has committed to the hockey club and the OHL.
Over the weekend, at their annual rookie orientation camp, together with his parents and sister, the Wolves first rounder was excited to join the pack.
"The Wolves organization has been so welcoming to me and my family this weekend. The experience has been great," said Murray. "It was a great opportunity to meet everyone and get a chance to get on the ice with the other players. It's also been great to meet people in the Wolves organization, especially the veteran players that made the effort to come up for the weekend and work with us."
"We have had a really successful weekend overall. We had some good on ice workouts, good baseline testing for the players and great opportunities for parents to learn about the city," said GM and VP of Hockey Operations Rob Papineau.
"The fact that Blake and the Murray family have embraced our team, our community, speaks volumes about what the future of Wolves Hockey has in store. Blake has the kind of character that will add to our dressing room and our community. He brings skill and an on-ice presence that has the potential to become an impact player in our league."
Blake will finish the grade 10 school year at home before a busy summer of training as he prepares for his first OHL training camp which is set to open Labour Day Weekend.
