Wolves host back to back divisional games this weekend

The Sudbury Wolves will host a pair of Central Division rivals this weekend, as the Niagara IceDogs and Mississauga Steelheads will make stops in Sudbury.

Friday night will feature the IceDogs who have lost at home twice to the Wolves this season and then Wolves hockey continues Saturday night when they host the Mississauga Steelheads. 

Both games are set to get underway at 7:05 p.m.

The Wolves have already beaten the IceDogs in two previous games in St. Catharines and came out on top with 5-2 victories in both games. Akil Thomas and Ben Jones lead the IceDogs offensively with 16 points and 14 points respectively in 14 games played this season. 

The Wolves have staked their territory on this division rivalry and will be looking to maintain their winning ways at the barn on Elgin Street with the IceDogs seeking revenge.

Friday’s game is sponsored by Goodlife Fitness who will be on hand with giveaways throughout the game for lucky fans. Don’t miss their exciting contest when lucky fans roll the dice during the first intermission. 

This weekend also marks the return of the Tim Hortons Tyke Mini game after the second period.

Saturday, the Wolves will host the Mississauga Steelheads for the first time in the regular season. The Steelheads had a slow start to their season but have won their last three straight games. 

Ryan McLeod and Albert Michac have led the offense for the Steelheads with 16 points and 15 points respectively in 14 games.

Saturday’s game is sponsored by Giant Tiger who will be on hand with Giant Tiger thunder sticks, t-shirts and gift cards giveaways for lucky fans. 

Prior to the game, fans can drop off gently used winter clothing for the Winter Clothing Drive in support of Our Children, Our Future at the front doors.

Fans are encouraged to skip the box office line and save time with Wolves Web Wednesday. All day Wednesday, fans can purchase their tickets online and save the service fees. 

Prior to this weekend’s action, the Wolves will take to the road on Wednesday to visit Northern rivals, the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at 7:07 p.m.
