Wolves look to continue streak

The Sudbury Wolves will look to continue their 10-game regulation undefeated streak at home Jan. 11 when they play host to the Mississauga Steelheads.

The Sudbury Wolves will look to continue their 10-game regulation undefeated streak at home when the Mississauga Steelheads make their second visit to the Sudbury Community Arena this season.

The teams are currently deadlocked in a tie for fourth place in the Ontario Hockey League’s Central Division with 43 points apiece. A lot is at stake in this divisional matchup as only four points separate the two teams from the Niagara IceDogs, who currently sit second in the division.

The Steelheads offensive attack has been led up front this season by Riley Brace who has posted an impressive 52 points to date this season. Toronto Maple Leaf’s first-round draft pick Stuart Percy leads the Steelheads' charge from the back end.

Mathew Campagna and Josh Leivo will be looking to extend streaks of their own over the weekend. Campagna is currently riding a league-leading 16-game point streak which has seen him post 28 points. Leivo is also riding an impressive 11-game point streak of his own which has seen him score 21 points to date.

Game time is 7:35 p.m.

On Jan. 12, the Wolves will head on the road to Peterborough for a contest against the Petes. The Petes’ play has improved as of late as they have posted an impressive 2-0-0-1 record in their last three contests.

Game time is 7:05 p.m.

The Wolves will then head to Brampton to finish up their first 3-in-3 of the New Year in a key divisional matchup against the Battalion. Entering the weekend, the Wolves currently sit two points behind the Battalion in the Central Division standings.
