Wolves look to draw even in Bell Challenge Cup

The Wolves will return to the ice Friday night as they conclude their four-game home stand, before heading on the road for a pair of contests this weekend.

Friday night's contest will mark game two of six in the Bell Challenge Cup series between the Sudbury Wolves and their northern rivals the Soo Greyhounds. The Wolves will be looking to draw even in the series as they dropped game one in Sault Ste. Marie back on Oct. 17 by a score of 3-1. Puck drop is at 7:35 p.m.

The Greyhounds offensive attack is led up front by Philadelphia Flyers 2011 3rd-round draft pick Nick Cousins, who enters the contest ninth in league scoring with 34 points in 23 games. The Hounds boast several other NHL prospects including Andrew Fritsch (2011, 6th Round, Phoenix), David Broll (2011, 6th Round, Toronto), Michael Schumacher (2011, 7th Round, Los Angeles), Matt Murray (2012, 3rd Round, Pittsburgh), Ryan Sproul (2011, 2nd Round, Detroit), and captain Collin Miller (2012, 5th Round, Los Angeles). The Greyhounds also come into the game with two top prospects for the upcoming 2013 NHL draft in Darnell Nurse and Sergei Tolchinsky.

After game two of the Bell Challenge Cup Friday night, the Wolves will head on the road for a pair of important divisional contests. On Nov. 24, the Wolves will travel to Niagara for a 7 p.m. date with the IceDogs, before finishing up their road swing Sunday afternoon against the Brampton Battalion at 2:05 p.m.
