The Sudbury Wolves returned home to a loud Sudbury Community Arena full of enthusiastic fans to host the Oshawa Generals for game three of their first round playoff series on Tuesday night.

The Wolves won the game by a score of 3-2 and now lead the best of seven series 2-1.

Game four is set for Thursday night, March 30 at 7 p.m. the Sudbury Arena, when the Generals look to even the series and the Wolves seek to take a commanding lead.

The Wolves started out well on Tuesday night, but the Generals matched the home team energy and eventually took the lead and a 1-0 score into the first intermission.

The Wolves came howling out of the dressing room for the second period and capitalized on special team opportunities, both on the power play and the penalty kill, and built a 3-1 lead before heading into the last frame.

During the third period Jake McGrath made several strong plays in net to keep the score tilted in the home side’s favour. The Generals scored to make the game 3-2 but that was all they could manage as the Wolves held the lead and responded to the Generals’ attack.

Thursday’s game is sponsored by the Lexington Hotel who will be on hand with prizes for lucky fans. Don’t miss the Lexington Hotel T-Shirt toss in the first intermission.

Wolves fans can also pick up their Jiffy Lube playoff Howl Towels on their way into Tuesday’s game. The first 4,000 fans at the game will receive Howl Towels which come with added value from Jiffy Lube.

Back by popular demand from Game three of the series, fans are invited to come down early between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to have their faces painted in the lobby of the Sudbury Arena.

Tickets for Thursday’s game are on sale now at the Sudbury Arena Box Office, by calling 705-671-3000 or online at greatersudbury.ca/tickets

With Tuesday’s victory, tickets for home game number three (game six) of the playoffs are also now on sale at the Sudbury Arena Box Office.

If necessary, Game six of the series will be played at the Sudbury Arena on Sunday April 2 at 7 p.m.

For interested fans, there will be a Fanfest BBQ and Playoff Rally planned for the noon hour on Saturday April 1 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Howler will be on hand and the box office will be open for fans convenience and there will be some fun activities.
