The Sudbury Wolves have traded defenceman
Kyle Lamb to the Owen Sound Attack in exchange for centre Kevin
Baker minutes before the OHL trading deadline expired Monday at
6 pm.
Baker, 17, had played in 37 games for the
Attack, amassing seven goals and 21 points. He also had a
plus/minus rating of +16.
Lamb, 17, had played in 41 games for the
Wolves, recording three goals and 15 points. Lamb also had an
impressive +10 rating, which was fourth on the team.
The Wolves then picked up local product Jeff
Christison off waivers from the Sarnia Sting. Christison has
played most of the season with the Sudbury Northern Wolves of
the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League. He leads that team
in scoring with 19 goals.
The Wolves weren't the only team making
adjustments.
Many teams across the league juggled their
rosters in an attempt to find the right mix for a run at the
OHL championship.
The London knights, already a powerhouse,
mortgaged their future to acquire Dan Fritsche from the Sting
and goalie Adam Dennis from Guelph.
The Knights dealt three draft picks, a third
round in 2006, a second round in 2007 and fifth round selection
in 2005, for Fritsche.
Then, they dealt goalie Ryan MacDonald, and
fourth, fifth and sixth round picks to Guelph for Dennis.
The Kitchener angers bolstered their forward
unit by picking up veteran scorer Jean-Michel Rizk from the
Saginaw Spirit for forward Joe McCann and a second and seventh
round selection in 2006.
The Wolves are in action this Friday, as they
host the Mississauga IceDogs at the Sudbury Arena. Game time is
7:30 pm.
