After numerous trades and players transactions over the past three weeks, the Sudbury Wolves ended up with a roster of 26 players.
In order to reduce the roster, the Wolves have announced the release of right winger Martin Doyle and left winger Kyle Musselman.
The new acquisitions have forced the team to limit the ice time of Doyle and Musselman and releasing them will allow the team to reduce the roster to 24 players. It will also allow both players the opportunity to get playing time with another team, said Wolves coach and general manager Mike Foligno.
Doyle had played several games with the Sudbury Northern Wolves of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League earlier this season and had played very well.
The Wolves are coming off a decent weekend in which they won at home against Mississauga and then tied Barrie on the road, before coming home and losing to the OHLÂ?s top-ranked Guelph Storm Sunday. The tie in Barrie gave the Wolves their first road point of the season.
The schedule doesnÂ?t get any easier this weekend as the Wolves have another three games in less than three days schedule.
The action starts Friday evening at home as the Wolves play host to the Brampton Battalion. Game time is 7:30 pm.
The Wolves then take to the road for games Saturday evening in Owen Sound and Sunday afternoon at 2 pm in Toronto against the St. MichaelÂ?s Majors. All Wolves road games can be heard on 790 CIGM AM radio.
At FridayÂ?s game, all Wolves fans will have the opportunity to vote for the next Wolves player to be inducted into the Laking Toyota Wall of Fame. Only Wolves fans can decide who that player will be so be sure to make your vote count.
