A bitterly disappointing 2002-2003 Ontario Hockey League season ended for the Sudbury Wolves Sunday afternoon with the Wolves absorbing yet another loss.

The Mississauga Ice Dogs made the OHL playoffs for the first time by knocking off the Wolves 5-1 to grab the eighth and final playoff position in the Eastern Conference.

The Wolves finished the season with a dismal record of 16 wins, 46 losses, four ties and two overtime losses. The Wolves finished with only 38 points, the second worst record in the OHL behind only Saginaw.

The Wolves managed to win only three of 34 road games all season.

This is the second consecutive season the Wolves have finished well under .500. However, last year?s team did manage to make the playoffs.

This was the first time in his 26 years of OHL coaching that a team led by Bert Templeton has failed to make the OHL playoffs.
