Wolves split weekend with Greyhounds

The Sudbury Wolves beat the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 3-1 Sunday night at the Sudbury Arena, to bump their exhibition record to 2-1. The Greyhounds opened the scoring in the second period on a goal by Ryan McInerney at 8:48 on the power play.

The Wolves responded minutes later when Devin Didiomete popped in a goal at 13:11.

The Wolves took the lead for good, when Rafal Martynowski potted a goal to make it 2-1 at 17:31.

Nick Foligno tallied an empty-net goal to round out the scoring.

Wolves' goalie Kevin Beech made 22 saves for the victory.

The win avenged the Wolves loss to the Greyhounds on Friday night in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Greyhounds bounced the Wolves 3-2.

The Greyhounds were led by Jeff carter, who ripped two goals to spark the win.

Blair Jarret scored the other goal for the Hounds.

Mike Mills and Jordan Prevost replied for the Wolves.

The Wolves next exhibition game is Friday, Sept. 17 against the Greyhounds again.

Game time at the Sudbury arena is 7:30 pm. Tickets are $9.

The Wolves round out their exhibition schedule with a saturday contest at the Sudbury arena against the Toronto St. Michael's Majors. Game time is 7pm and tickets are $9.
