The Sudbury Wolves kept rolling Wednesday with a 5-2 win over the North Bay Battalion.

With the victory, the Wolves pushed their winning streak to nine straight games and moved into a tie with the Nigara IceDogs for first place in the Central Division.

The Wolves are finding different ways to win on their current streak, and on Wednesday the Wolves overcame a slow start, rallying for four straight goals en route to the win.

Wolves rookie defenseman Isaak Phillips opened the scoring for the home side with just over six minutes to play in the first period. The Battalion responded less than 30 seconds later, with Brad Chenier tying the game up.

Brandon Coe put the visitors in the lead less than two minutes later and North Bay skated into the intermission with a 2-1 lead, outshooting the Wolves 17-10.

Phillips was at it again early on in the second period, netting his second goal of the game and third goal of the season 1:45 into the middle frame. Macauley Carson and Adam Ruzicka would tally for the Wolves three minutes apart in the latter stages of the second to give the Wolves a 4-2 lead heading into the final period.

The Wolves buckled down and held the Battalion to just 10 shots in the third, while firing 17 shots on North Bay goaltender Christian Propp, with Shane Bulitka firing home his 16th goal of the season.

Isaak Phillips earned first star of the game honours for his two goal outing, and netminder Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was named second star, turning away 34 of 36 shots.

The Wolves will look to push their winning streak into the double digits on Friday, as the host the West Division-leading Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at the Sudbury Community Arena.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
