The Sudbury Wolves have a new head scout.

Mike Taylor, a Guelph native who has been scouting for the team for the past two seasons has been named the team’s head scout.

“It is an honour to have the opportunity to be part of such a storied franchise as the Sudbury Wolves who are clearly moving in the right direction,” said Taylor.

Taylor began scouting for the OHL in 2002 in the Central Scouting department, covering southwestern Ontario until 2008. He then became a regional scout for the Belleville Bulls, and then the Hamilton Bulldogs, until 2015.

For the past two seasons, he has served as a regional scout, covering the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario and the OMHA South Central Triple A (SCTA) for the Sudbury Wolves.

The team says Taylor has also served as a talent evaluator for the Under 17 Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario and is a kinesiology graduate from Western University in 1993.

“Mike is a person who has demonstrated a strong ability to evaluate talent and project success with many players in the Ontario Hockey League over a 16-year scouting career,” said Rob Papineau, Wolves GM and vice-president of hockey operations.
