Chase Stillman was the only goal scorer out of six shootout shooters, and it was enough to give the Sudbury Wolves a 3-2 shootout victory over the visiting North Bay Battalion on Friday night in Sudbury.

Mitchell Russell, Brandon Coe and Matvey Petrov all could not solve Mitch Weeks in the shootout, while Battalion goaltender Joe Vrbetic denied David Goyette and Quentin Musty.

The Wolves opened the scoring at 4:41 of the opening frame on a Kocha Delic tally, his fifth of the campaign.

The Battalion responded with a pair of goals in the first courtesy Petrov and Russell who scored less than three minutes apart in the latter stages of the period.

Dylan Robinson netted the equalizer only 14 seconds into the middle frame to evening things up a 2-2 and it stayed that way until the shootout.

Vrbetic suffered the loss turning away 29 shots in regulation, while the Wolves' Mitch Weeks stopped 37 in the win.

The two teams meet again on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at North Bay's Memorial Gardens.
