Sudbury Wolves overage forward Chandler Yakimowicz has been suspended for eight games, the Ontario Hockey League announced this week.

Yakimowicz was punished for abuse of an official during a Nov. 25 game against the Niagara IceDogs in which he appeared to shove an official during a scrum in front of the Sudbury net. He can return Dec. 17.

The team acquired the former London Knight in early October in exchange for forward Brady Pataki and Sudbury’s third-round draft pick in 2018 and a sixth-round pick in 2017.

Yakimowicz was drafted in the sixth-round by St. Louis Blues in 2014 and has made appearances in two Memorial Cup tournaments. The six-foot-two, 210-pound forward is in his fourth season in the OHL, and has scored 54 points in 151 games played.

In addition to Yakimowicz, Michael Pezzetta was suspended 10 games and Zach Wilkie for five for incidents in the same game. The team plays tonight in Sudbury against the North Bay Battalion.
