BY SABRINA BYRNES The Sudbury Wolves are back in action and off to a great start after defeating the Soo Greyhounds 6-2 in the team's first exhibition game at the Sudbury Arena Tuesday evening.

The Laurentian Voyageurs basketball team took to the court at the University of Guelph for a pre-season game against the NCAA Division I Iona Gaels. The Laurentian men could not come away with an upset, falling to the Gaels by a score of 104-69.

The Kal Tire Junior Wolves held one of their most successful training camps last week when 35 players competed for one of the 20 spots on the Junior Wolves roster this season.

The Sudbury Arena will showcase 13 top international pros from the FMX and BMX pro circuit in the 2008 Freestyle Motocross World Tour Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m.

For the second time in three years the Laurentian Voyageurs men's basketball team finds themselves preparing to compete against an NCAA Division I team, this time the Iona College Gaels from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

The Laurentian women's soccer team have done the training, picked their team and are now set to open the 2008 OUA regular season against their northern rivals from North Bay, the Nipissing Lakers. The game is set for 2 p.m.
