BY SCOTT HADDOW It's bear season and the hunt is on. The St. Benedict Bears senior boys football team won their first-ever city championship this past Friday, thumping their South End rivals, the Lo-Ellen Park Knights, 36-13.

Recently at the OUA women's soccer final four banquet, the OUA announced its all-star award winners for the 2006-07 season, with three Lady Vees being among the list of award winners.

Two of the top teams in the NOJHL will do battle Nov. 8 as the Kal Tire Sudbury Jr. Wolves take on the North Bay Skyhawks in game three of the Paul Lizotte Fuels Challenge Cup. Game time is 7:30 pm at the McCelland Arena in Copper Cliff. The Jr.

With Sudbury Wolves' forward Kevin Baker in the penalty box, Tomas Stryncl scored in overtime to give the Brampton Battalion a 5-4 win. The Wolves, along with goalie Michael Swick, were looking for their fourth consecutive win Sunday.

BY SCOTT HADDOW Playing a full season in any sport can be challenging, but for the most part is fairly routine. This past season, Laurentian University women's soccer team defender Sally Parent accomplished the seemingly trivial feat.
