Both the young and the young-at-heart can check out some of the most impressive machines on the road during a very special event. Laurentian Chrysler and Crosstown Chevrolet host the Cars 4 Kidz Car Show, September 21 at Laurentian Chrysler.
This is a chance for all car enthusiasts to browse over 100 cars on display in one location. You’ll find everything from yesteryear, with muscle cars and classic cars from the 60s and 70s, to the latest modern marvels like Ferraris, McLarens and Corvettes.
The entire event is geared towards kids, and Cars 4 Kidz also benefits local children by donating the event's proceeds to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sudbury.
“This year, we picked Big Brothers and Big Sisters as the charity we’re working with,” said Jason Carrier, General Manager of Laurentian Chrysler. “The kids are the future and we thought it was something cool to do for the kids of the community.”
“We invite everyone to join us September 21 st to help make Cars4Kidz, presented by Crosstown, a huge success again this year,” said Dr. Kevin McCormick, BBBS President. “This fundraising initiative founded by local physician and super car enthusiast Dr. Robbie Pastre is focused on family fun and supporting local youth in our community. Big Brothers Big Sisters programs change young lives for the better by offering mentorship matches that build resilience in children
and youth at risk. We are thrilled to be the recipient organization this year and welcome one and all to the event!”
Cars 4 Kidz is a joint effort between Carrier and his team at Laurentian Chrysler, as well as Kristen Pollesel, Dealer Principal and her team at Crosstown Chevrolet. 2024 marks the third annual Cars 4 Kidz Car Show, and it’s grown bigger and better year after year.
“Last year’s Cars4Kidz event attracted upwards of 1,000 people, and we’re hoping for the same enthusiastic response to the event again this year being held in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sudbury,” said Dr. Robbie Pastre, a local family physician, super car owner, and event founder. “I’m thrilled that Kristen Pollesel and the Crosstown team have been on board since the event’s inception and have helped to grow the initiative into what it is now – a family-friendly annual event aimed at raising significant funds for youth-focused organizations in our community. I’m grateful to all the car owners, sponsors, and donors who participate each year to ensure Cars4Kidz is a success!”
This year, the Sudbury Classic Cruisers Car Club will have a large presence at the dealership with many of their members rolling in with their vintage wheels on display.
This is also a great opportunity to see some of the latest and greatest supercars, vehicles you might not otherwise see cruising around town on a typical Saturday. Many supercar owners are driving their Ferrari, McLaren or Corvette into Sudbury just for this special occasion.
One of the fan favourite events is a contest to see which classic car and which hypercar can rev their engine the loudest. It promises to be a day of fun, as there will also be food trucks on site, face painting, a bouncy castle, games, prizes, a dunk tank, and a performance by local country duo, Chicks with Picks.
Admission to this event is free, but any donations—big or small—are welcome to support the crucial work done by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sudbury. “We want to give back, especially to the kids of the community,” Carrier said.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters programs foster relationships that children and youth at risk need to succeed,” said McCormick. “These mentorship opportunities ignite potential, and are a critical factor in shaping healthy young people who are better able to deal with and overcome life’s hardships. The work our organization does, in concert with amazing volunteers who model healthy relationships, helps children and adolescents to achieve a life full of potential rather than adversity.”
Last year, Cars 4 Kidz raised $25,000 for the NEO Kids Foundation, another critical local organization that changes children’s lives for the better. This year, Crosstown Chevrolet and Laurentian Chrysler hope to surpass that total for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
