Cousin Vinny’s Restaurant & Bar opened its first location 2009 in the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre. A second location opened in 2018. Diners flock to Cousin Vinny’s for its great menu that features all the family favourites such as their Godfather pizza, battered fish & chips,  homemade meat balls, soups, salads, burgers, pasta and more. The quality food in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere has earned the restaurant a nearly perfect Google rating across nearly 400 reviews.

However, Cousin Vinny’s is known for more than its delicious menu. The brand is a strong community supporter that is involved with numerous fundraisers and also organized the largest community festival in Northern Ontario – Valley East Days had an average attendance of 30,000 people over the weekend.

“Cousin Vinny’s has helped raise money for schools, charities and sports teams by offering fundraising programs such as dinners with live entertainment, comedy shows, wingo and porketta bingos, and more,” says owner Chris Vitiello. “These fundraisers are a perfect way for teachers, PTAs, school families, sports teams and the entire student body to get involved and raise funds for initiatives, supplies, athletics, events, tournaments and infrastructure.”

He adds, “Over the last two years Cousin Vinny’s has been extremely limited with the ability to help. COVID closures have been very stressful and limited group sizes has not allowed us to do fundraisers. The industry has changed considerably, and less people are willing to go out to restaurants. Large groups are now avoided if possible. Most of our customers still order take-out even though many restrictions have been lifted.”

The entrepreneur and his team are still determined support the community, so they have shifted gears to a pandemic-safe fundraiser that appeals to everyone. It’s called the Truck Load Sale.

Chris explains, “This new fundraiser offers the public a unique opportunity to offer quality restaurant food at wholesale prices while organizations benefit from every case sold.”

This fundraiser can be leveraged by schools, charities, sports teams and other groups.

The Truck Load sale is in collaboration with Gordon Food Services, one of the largest food distributors in North America. Just some of the foods available at wholesale prices include beef, steak, seafood, chicken, meatballs, and wings. Everything is contact-free, making it a viable event no matter what COVID restrictions are in place.

Once your team or organizations has signed up with Cousin Vinny’s, your friends and family supporting the fundraiser, simply go to www.cousinvinnys.truckload.sale and place an order. When checking out, enter in the notes section the organization, school, or association you are supporting. For example: Cousin Vinny’s U-15 Hockey Team & player name. Cousin Vinny’s Restaurant & Bar will be offering its first Fundraising Truck Load sale to organizations from November 24-December 7th with pick up on Dec 9th, 2021. To sign-up for this opportunity please call Chris at Cousin Vinny’s in Hanmer 705-969-5644.

“Organizations don’t have to pick up food and give them to their supporters. Customers purchasing items can pick up on a specific day from the Gordon Food Services truck in the Cousin Vinny’s Parking lot,” says Chris. “A 10 per cent commission is given to the fundraiser by cheque after the truck load sale is over.”

Cousin Vinny’s Restaurant & Bar has always been, and will always be, focused on the community – and they will not let a global pandemic change that. Click here to access The Truckload Sale, and here to learn more about the restaurant.
