For more than 45 years, Dominion Sewing Centre has supplied products and services to sewing enthusiasts across Northern Ontario.

Dominion is your one-stop shop for all types of sewing machines and sergers, from entry level models to tech-enabled machines, and is an authorized dealer for Janome, Babylock, Grace Company of Canada and Handi Quilter and Reliable Corporation.

Here you will also find a repair team with more than 50 years of combined experience, custom embroidery services, and the most recent offering: a fabric store with more than 400 fabric choices.

While the sewing machines and accessories have always been a part of Dominion, the fabric shop is new. October marks the first anniversary. To celebrate, Dominion is hosting a sidewalk sale event where you can meet the team, shop clearance items, and get once-in-a-lifetime deals. You don’t want to pass up this opportunity! The sale runs from Oct. 17-24 at 879 & 899 Kingsway Rd, Sudbury.

In 2019, Dominion Sewing changed hands to its current owner, Mylaine Mageau-Whissell.

“Ownership has changed, but we remain that welcoming, happy, positive place you know and love,” says Mylaine.

“We have been in sewing machine service and sales for decades; our knowledge and experience cannot be compared. When purchasing from us, you get the satisfaction of knowing if you have questions or want a lesson or tutorial, we are here. With the start of the pandemic, we have expanded our services to use video conferencing for tutorials troubleshooting. We offer full warranty on the machines through the store. You know that your getting premium products,” she continues about the advantages of purchasing sewing machines and accessories in person from an experienced retailer, rather than online.

Dominion Sewing Centre is customer-focused, and also very community minded. In addition to other charitable pursuits, the store recently donated 60 fleece blankets to shelters and homeless individuals during the cold months.

With a promise of “We will go the extra yard to make your sewing experience seamless,” you know you’ll love your experience at Dominion Sewing Centre. Be sure to stop in for the anniversary event. Mark your calendar!
