Kinsmen Club's Showcase Sweepstakes success credited to generous sponsors

Kinsmen Club of Sudbury 37th Sweepstakes tickets are nearly sold out

Take a virtual tour of this year’s Sudbury Kinsmen Showcase Sweepstakes grand prize show home at 114 Hazelton Drive in Minnow Lake, and you can imagine living in your dream home.

“The virtual tour is stunning, but nothing beats seeing the home in person”, said Showcase Coordinator, Mary Jane Drury. “Each and every one of our sponsors have pulled out all the stops to make this home fabulous.”

The Centreline Architecture team worked with Kinsmen Club of Sudbury from start to finish, building on the plans to give the home function and flow.

Zulich Homes is the builder, and Drury said they are one of the best quality builders in Sudbury. “John and his team always go above and beyond to give you a home that you will love.”

Drury credits the vision of designer Nicole Anderson who owns Interiors by Nicole, with creating a beautiful space that feels welcoming and elegant at the same time. Nicole Anderson said, “I wanted the home to be timeless with a little bit of edge.” The edge was applied in the lighting that can be easily changed, and timeless can be found in the fixed elements such as the neutral flooring.

Anderson also wanted people to envision themselves living in the home. She achieved this by keeping the wall colours neutral and light, while staying away from being gender specific in the main living areas.

Another aspect Anderson wanted to address is the home’s functionality. She said, “I spent a lot of time on furniture placement to ensure that there was ample room for furnishings and that the furnishings I selected were practical and durable, yet elegant for any homeowner, from a young family to empty nesters.”

There are tens of thousands of dollars worth of extras in the showcase home package, which include high-end kitchen appliances, a garden and custom draperies. The winner will also receive a $2500 gift certificate form Leon’s Furniture. The entire show case home package is valued at nearly $900,000. The Kinsmen Club has received hundreds of compliments from people who say this year is the best showcase home ever. “Drury said, “We wish we could mention every sponsor, every time, as they all bring something, whether big or small, to the showcase home.”

Because of the loyalty and long-standing commitment of the sponsors, the showcase sweepstakes has grown and that has a positive impact on the charities. There are 12 recipient charities this year, which include a wide range of organizations; from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, to the Sudbury Theatre Centre.

There are dozens of prizes to be won, in addition to the Showcase Home, including the first ever 50/50 draw.

The Grand Prize Draw will take place on December 1st at the Showcase Home.
