Ezentials has created a mini-indoor Nordic experience where guests can move leisurely through the hot (traditional sauna or eucalyptus steam room), cold (cold mist or cold bucket shower), and rest (lounge chair area) circuit at their own pace. They have done an amazing job with the space and created a true zen-like ambience.
“I felt like I was at a high-end resort in another city,” says one of their guests after enjoying the Nordic Lounge for the first time. “The feedback we’ve received has been amazing!” comments Dr. Tracy Gilbert, Naturopathic Doctor and owner of Ezentials. “We are absolutely thrilled to launch this new addition to our wellness escape and eco-luxury spa. We spent many months on the renovations and are so happy with the final result!”
Of the features offered, Tracy commented that the eucalyptus steam room has been especially popular. “Guests absolutely love the scent of the eucalyptus essential oil as the room fills with hot steam. The heat literally helps to melt away any stress and strain that our guests may be feeling prior to their visit,” she continues. “It is very rewarding to see the relaxed state that our guests are in by the time their experience ends.”
If the hot features are relaxing, the cold part of the circuit is certainly invigorating - not to mention the health benefits for the immune system and cognitive function. Ezentials has created a unique way of offering the exposure to cold. For guests who prefer a gentle cool down, they have installed a refreshing cold mist that feels amazing! And for those who are brave enough to go all in – they can pull the handle on a large cedar bucket that is filled with cold water, dumping the contents over their head and body! Brrrrrrr!
After the cold exposure, guests can reward themselves by stretching out on a comfy lounge chair and sipping on a beverage served from the onsite café. “Our café is fully licensed, so guests can enjoy a glass of wine, beer on-tap, or a mimosa,” explains Tracy. “Others guests prefer to hydrate with one of our delicious fruit smoothies such as our signature Raspberry Refresh which is my personal favourite.”
The Nordic Lounge at Ezentials offers a unique experience for individuals or for groups. The room can accommodate 8 people at one time and is available for private bookings. “We are getting lots of requests from groups who book the entire room. We are seeing workplaces book for their staff, bridal party bookings, families getting together, and girlfriends’ spa days. It’s been so great to see how our Nordic Lounge has created a space that brings people together,” says Tracy.
