It’s no surprise that University Magazine recently ranked Laurentian University as the second best online university in Canada. With 27 degree granting programs and close to 540 courses delivered online or in blended formats, Laurentian University boasts the largest selection of bilingual (English and French) distance education programs in the country.

Online delivery affords students the flexibility to complete their studies while maintaining their day-to-day lives. For example, online learners can continue working and tending to home life and/or other responsibilities, which can be very challenging if pursuing studies in an in-class format. In fact, approximately 85 per cent of Laurentian‘s online learners are 25 years of age or older and working.

With Laurentian Online, there are many different course offerings to meet the diverse needs and areas of interests. Registration is now open for Laurentian‘s Online/Distance Education Spring Session. Visit the University’s website for details and to register.

Who Can Register for Online Courses?

Whether working, staying at home or both, Laurentian’s 27 fully online programs include courses in the areas of Faculty of Health, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Management, Faculty of Science and Engineering and Architecture. Most Laurentian students have jobs, children and responsibilities and are looking to improve and/or change their jobs or careers. The programs are tailored to meet the demands of a busy lifestyle.

For many, having the flexibility to study when it’s convenient makes learning more realistic. Find out more by reading Questions to Ask Yourself in Order to Become a Successful Online Learner on the online/distance education page.

What is the Format of Online Learning?

Laurentian Online gives students the option to study part-time or full-time during the Fall, Winter or Spring sessions. And, they can choose to study in English or in French. Fully online programs are delivered asynchronously, which means students are not bound by class times that interfere with day-to-day responsibilities.

Who Creates Laurentian’s Online Courses?

Online courses are created by Laurentian’s faculty members in collaboration with national research experts. They undergo rigorous peer review processes and hold the same learning outcomes as on-campus courses.

Can Online Students Apply for Financial Aid?
