Rehan Iqbal owns and operates the Your Independent Grocer location on Regent Street in Sudbury. Rehan believes in supporting local businesses and reinforces this by carrying a selection of Sudbury and Ontario-made products.
“Carrying products that are made close to home is an important initiative for us. Last year has proven that supporting local vendors in and around Ontario is extremely important. Our store presents a strong platform for these vendors to have their products displayed and ultimately benefit from the sales in these very challenging times,” says Rehan.

Rehan notes, “These are products that I believe customers are looking for when out shopping. These items represent small businesses in communities that are in or relatively close to Sudbury and each of these product lines have a very personal story attached to them. There is no application process – we selected these products as they make sense for the store and our customers.”
New products will be added as applicable.
“Last year has been challenging for retailers, shoppers, and small businesses,” Rehan concludes. “Our store was not impacted with closures from COVID-19, but many other businesses suffered. Because of this, Rehan’s Your Independent Grocer wants to be a part of the community and wants to help small businesses in Ontario promote their products in our store.
