To be successful in sport you need to be resourceful, versatile, and when necessary, highly innovative. The same goes for business, especially when operating in the recreational powersport equipment sector.
That’s certainly been true for the team at TSI Powersports, a family owned and operated company specializing in industrial/recreational over snow and all terrain vehicles. Since first opening its doors in 1992, TSI Powersports has been a Northern Ontario leader in the sales and service of Canadian-made Argo amphibious all-terrain vehicles, Husqvarna lawn, tree, and snow removal equipment, along with retailing a wide-variety of snowmobile/motocross/ATV gear and apparel from top names like Gamma and Kimpex and now taking on the Bobcat Grounds Maintenance line as well.
While the products sold by TSI Powersports have certainly been a big part of the company success, sales manager Mike Heino Jr. said the real strength of the company is the customer service provided by Team TSI.
“We hear it all the time,” said Heino, whose father originally launched the company that now employs multiple family members. “It’s something we’re very proud of. Our team has a lot of customer service skills. Everyone is courteous. We take the time to answer all questions. It never feels like a rushed process. We take the time to talk with customers whether in person or on the phone to ensure they get the right product for their needs.”
For those looking to “go green” with their landscaping and residential property maintenance, Heino said Husqvarna is an industry leader in the manufacturing of lawn, tree, and snow removal equipment.
“Husqvarna has developed an automated lawn mower that’s works like a Rumba for your lawn,” he said. “They’re way ahead of the market with that product. They also manufacturer whipper snippers, chain saws, and other hand-help products that have a battery option as well.”
When it comes to their own innovative products, TSI Powersports has taken their all terrain vehicle line up to an entirely different level by being able to provide custom tow behind products from their commercial manufacturing mother company The Shop Industrial Inc, the world’s leading manufacturer of snowmobile / over snow trail groomers.
Customers such as Parks Canada have purchased TSI Powersports tow-behind graders/groomers to help maintain biking, hiking, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, dog sled and snowmobiles trails. These items are also popular with recreational and industrial property owners who need to keep trails groomed year round.
“That’s just one example of the innovation we can offer that goes hand in hand with the products we sell at TSI Powersports,” said Heino. “It’s a unique addition to all these branded items. We can manufacture things like small tow-behind graders/groomers for ATVs, SXS, XTV’s, Pick up trucks or tractors for families wanting to groom trails for kids or maintain private roads.”
Sales of gear and apparel is another area where the team at TSI Powersports excels. They retail after market parts for snowmobiles, ATVs, SXS, XTV’s and dirt bikes, along with helmets, snowmobile suits, gloves, googles, and much more.
“I think we will have nearly 35,000 products listed on our new website when it is launched, so if we don’t have it in stock we can get it for you quickly,” said Heino.
