Premier Doug Ford is slated to make an announcement at 1 p.m. at Queen's Park today.
Today's announcement comes after the government said it is willing to take "swift action" to curb the record number of COVID-19 cases. On Sunday, Ontario reported over 1,000 cases for the first time.
It is anticipated that Durham and Halton regions are also expected to learn today whether they will be forced to revert to a modified Stage 2.
Ford will be joined by Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, and Rod Phillips, Minister of Finance, to make the announcement.
