It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of our mother at Golden Birches Terrace, Blind River in her 95th year.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph and is the cherished mother of Richard (Céline), Elizabeth Laderoute (Michael), Suzanne St Jules (Robin), Shirley Ann Fullerton (Murray), Theodore (Marlene), James (Annette) and Leonard (Lisa). Adored Nana to Matthew, Danika, Melissa, Angela, Nicholas, Kerri-Lee, Jeffrey, Kimberley, Stephanie, Ryan, Timothy, Christopher, Andrew, Michael, Jonathan, Aric and Daniel and Grannan to 24 great grandchildren. She was a special aunt to the Vital Landriault family: Gordon, Harvey, Ivan, Gerald, Ernie, Irene, Anne, George, Phyllis, and Jean.

Born and raised in Walford, daughter of the late Bertha and Theodule Landriault. She is survived by her siblings Marie Saby (late Bill Saby, late Bill Thornton), Theodore (late Brenda), Zella David (Aurel, late Ownie Wilson) and Leo. Predeceased by Vital (late Ruby, late Eileen), Orvil (Vi), Andy (late Marion), Helen Mailloux (late Eugene), Noella Andress (late Nobel), Alfred (Livy), Howard (late Carol Ann), Henry and Norman (Jeannine).

She is predeceased by Joe’s siblings Arthur (Kay), Michael (Delta), Agnes Mask (Anthony) and Leona Holley (Bernard).

She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Mom graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Sudbury. She and Dad moved to Blind River in 1955 where she continued her nursing career at St. Joseph’s General Hospital.

She was very active in the community. She served in various capacities with the Catholic Women’s League. Over the years she was an avid, enthusiastic volunteer with the Kinettes, the Rotary Club and the Cross-Country Ski Club. Following her retirement, she became a member of Huron Pines Golf Club where she was perpetual winner of the Most Honest Golfer Award.

Mom and Dad were often the life of the party, always eager to dress up and be silly. They could be counted on to be the last ones on the dance floor then attend mass the next morning.

She and Dad loved to travel and were fortunate to explore many different countries, bringing home stories and treasures and instilling this joy of travel in their children.

Mom will be remembered for her compassion, her kindness, her strong work ethic, and her love of life.

We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Murphy and to the staff at North Shore Health Network. As we navigated through so many departments and services recently, from Community Support, through Emergency Room and Acute Care and all the support services, everyone has been so competent, kind, and respectful. Golden Birches Terrace truly became her home over the past few months. We thank all of you for the exemplary care that she received.
