Stephanie Mary Urban Wilson (Sekerak)
November 8, 1931 - April 28, 2024
Beloved wife of John Urban predeceased in 1977 and Wayne Wilson predeceased in 2008 both of Sudbury. Loving mother of John Urban (Cheryl) of Brechin, Thomas Urban (Tammy) of Sudbury, Craig Wilson predeceased, Catherine Smith predeceased, Marnee Wilson of Toronto, and Rebecca Wilson (Joe) of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of Matthew Urban (Lauren), Megan Chapman (Calvin), Ryan Urban (Suzanne), Lauren Urban (Karlene), Ethan Urban, Sacha Faubert, Thierry Faubert, and Christopher Smith. Great grandmother of Sierra Urban, Logan Urban and Carys Chapman. Dear daughter of Martin and Mary Sekerak predeceased. Dear sister of Magda, Irenka and Ann (Richard) predeceased, Yolanka and Milan (Diane). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, Stephanie moved to Canada with her parents at the age of 3 and was raised in Sudbury. She worked for Cochrane Dunlop Hardware for many years in various clerical positions working her way up to office manager before she retired. While it was uncommon for women to work in this field and in a management position at that time, Stephanie took great pride in being able to hold her own and overcome the challenges.
Stephanie was intelligent, outgoing, and enjoyed lifelong friendships with many including her dear friends Mary W, Stella Q and Mary R. She was dedicated to her family and delighted in all their successes. She was always there to support and encourage and found much joy in being a loving Baba to her grandchildren.
Thank you to the staff of Pioneer Manor for their compassionate care, to Pat and Ed Wyrwas for their continuous love and support, to her sister in law Diane for her positive reinforcement, and to all who supported her these past few years.
Our beautiful mother Stephanie was blessed to live a long life, full of love and laughter shared with family and friends. We are grateful for her loving presence in our lives and will cherish the many happy memories she left us with until we meet again.
