Court heard that in late February 2017, Ministry and Natural Resources and Forestry conservation officers received a complaint that a party of three males angling on Lake Nipissing had caught, retained and abandoned numerous fish.

With the assistance of the Special Investigations Services and Canine Units, an investigation was initiated.

On March 5, 2017, officers contacted the three men on Lake Nipissing and determined that Manjra, Dadabhai and Savai were in possession of prohibited-sized walleye. Manjra had also abandoned 16 walleye from the group’s earlier trip in late February.

Justice of the Peace Monique Mechefske heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, North Bay, on September 20, 2017.
