Another Northern Ontario OPP officer tests positive for COVID-19

The OPP was made aware of the diagnosis on April 18

The OPP is confirming another uniform member has tested positive with COVID-19 in this area.

A news release states the member is in isolation and following recommended health protocols and following public health authorities' advice,

The officer works at the Temiskaming Detachment in the OPP's North East Region. The member's name is being withheld to respect their privacy.

It's the third confirmed positive test of an OPP member locally. One was reported in the Nipissing West detachment and another in the West Parry Sound detachment.

The OPP was made aware of the latest diagnosis on April 18.

"We wish them a speedy recovery. Their family and colleagues are in our thoughts," says Sergeant Carlo Berardi.
