Barrie climbs to third spot for highest rent in Canada

The July PadMapper rent report finds Barrie has become the third most expensive city to rent a one bedroom apartment in Canada.

Barrie climbed two spots, 'experiencing a steep increase,' according to the report.

Rental rates in Barrie rose 5.2 percent in the last month to to $1,210 for a one bedroom apartment. 

However, two bedroom units dipped by 1.4% to $1,390.

The only two cities that came in higher than Barrie were Vancouver, with a one bedroom price of $2,090, and Toronto, with an average price of $1,800.
