Dried beef sausage sold in Ontario being recalled

Ansellem brand 'Solo Chorizo - Dried Beef Sausage' / CFIA

A type of sausage is being recalled from store shelves because of possible Salmonella contamination.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the recalled product, Ansellem brand 'Solo Chorizo - Dried Beef Sausage' have been sold in 28 gram packages in Ontario stores.

Food contaminated with salmonella can cause fever, headaches, and nausea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.

The recalled product should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

No illnesses have been reported.  

This recall was triggered by a consumer complaint.
