Two men in their late 20s from southern Ontario died this past weekend, drowning in high swells at Wasaga Beach on July 8.

OPP, Wasaga Fire Department and Ontario Park wardens were called to the tourist area Saturday to search for two missing men. They were last seen at the mouth of the Nottawasaga River.

After searching for about an hour, the bodies of the two men were located. Conditions at the time of the search included wave swells exceeding 2 metres. Neither victim was wearing a lifejacket.

CPR was performed on scene, but the men couldn't be revived. Police do not consider the deaths suspicious and alcohol is not considered a factor.

The deceased have been identified as 27-year-old Dilvinder Lakhanpal of Caledon and 26-year-old Nimit Sharma of of Collingwood,
