One person is reported dead in connection with a structure fire which began around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Nipissing Inn located on Lakeshore Drive.
"Crews entered the unit to extinguish the fire and search for victims," stated Fire Chief Jason Whiteley adding that the blaze was contained to one room.
"Fire crews located one person deceased.
"Our fire Prevention division, North Bay Police and the office of the Fire Marshal are investigating," Whiteley said noting that no one else was injured.
No word yet on the cause as a Fire Marshal official is traveling from Hearst to the scene today.
